The station goes to air 24/7 and at all other times, a great variety of easy listening music from various genres is broadcast along with messages from our many advertisers. The station broadcasts Funeral Announcements that have been authorized by local Funeral Directors. Community Announcements from volunteer organizations throughout the Shire are gladly put to air.
Radio 97.1 Sweet FM Inc. acknowledges The Lower Burdekin Newspaper Company and The Townsville Bulletin when reading news from their editions. Other news items come from Media Monitors, Local Government, State and Federal Government Press Releases .Announcements going to air must firstly be authorized. Station volunteers broadcast up to the minute information in times of Cyclone, Flood and Emergency Situations - it goes to air as soon as it arrives in the studio and this is the station acknowledged on the CD-Rom produced by the Burdekin Shire Council as the station to tune to for Emergency Information
