Our Regular Programs

All our programs are presented by the volunteers at Radio 97.1 Sweet FM Inc. to residents of the Burdekin Shire from studios in Home Hill and from a transmitter on Mount Inkerman, and can be heard in Queen Street, Ayr, also at the Comfort Stop in Home Hill.

The station goes to air 24/7. A variety of music is broadcast along with messages from our many advertisers.

National News is aired each hour, on the hour, from 6am Monday through to 6pm Saturday, then again from 6am till 6pm on Sundays. Queensland news is broadcast each week day at 7:30am and 8:30am. Sports news airs at 6:45am and 4:45pm Monday to Friday. News headlines airs at 6:30am and 4:30pm each weekday. These news services are supplied by Australian Independant Radio News and are currently sponsored by Don West Toyota, North Queensland Hard Facing and Oar Laser Levelling. Sports news is sponsored by Burdekin Motors Group and Liquaforce.

The station broadcasts Funeral Announcements at 8am each weekday that have been authorised by local Funeral Directors enabling listeners in outlying areas to know when a resident has passed away.

Community Announcements from Burdekin Shire Council and volunteer organisations throughout the Shire are gladly put to air. Announcements going to air must firstly be authorised.

Station volunteers broadcast up to the minute information in times of Cyclone, Flood and Emergency Situations. This goes to air as soon as it arrives in the studio, and must be read without comment by the reader.

All presenters will read community announcements, weather and other information as they come to hand.
